Review: Blind Attraction (Reckless Beat, #1) by Eden Summers

Blind Attraction
Contemporary Romance - Music - Erotica

He can seduce with a single glance.

Peering down at a sea of fans, rock star, Mitchell Davies can’t deny the innocent beauty of a woman in the front row. He’ll stop at nothing to get to know her. When a public altercation leaves her weak and defenseless, he takes the opportunity to be her savior.

She’s been sheltered from the world.

Alana Shelton wants to spread her wings and experience life away from her restrictive upbringing. But she isn’t prepared for a gorgeous stranger to sweep her off her feet while at her most vulnerable.

Attraction will bring them together, but their pasts will try to tear them apart.

He wants to teach her how to trust, but she’ll show him how to love. In a glamorous world of rock-and-roll, only time will tell if they’re up for the challenge.

~ 4.5 Blind Attraction Stars ~

Blind Attraction is book one in Eden Summers new Reckless Beat series. I’m not a contemporary reader, but Eden Summer pulled me in and kept me engaged. I really enjoyed this Rock Star story. The book is funny and sweet with a bunch of thrilling emotions and plenty of hot sex.

I’m not a fan of the quick love, but Alana and Mitchell’s fast growth of feeling's did not bother me. I like Alana with her backbone, even with her sheltered upbringing and being total out of her element, she was not scared to tell Mitchell how she felt. Mitchell is an alpha male, but also thoughtful, caring and adorable. The two together where a very unlikely pairing, but it worked!

Not being a contemporary reader Eden Summer got me with her Reckless Beat boys! I enjoyed the world building, intraduction to all the characters, humor and erotic romance. I look forward to continue the series and see all the sexy Rock boys hook up.

Review: Kitty and the Midnight Hour (Kitty Norville, #1) by Carrie Vaughn

Kitty and the Midnight Hour
Parnormal Romance - Urban Fantasy - Shapeshifters

Kitty Norville is a midnight-shift DJ for a Denver radio station - and a werewolf in the closet. Her new late-night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged is a raging success, but it's Kitty who can use some help. With one sexy werewolf-hunter and a few homicidal undead on her tail, Kitty may have bitten off more than she can chew?

~ 2.5 Stars ~

I enjoyed "Kitty and the Midnight Hour", thou it had it's down sides to it as well. I hope the character Kitty grows up more in the series, for she does seam to have potentinal and from what I see the series did take off.

The plot was interesting with assassins, fake faith healers peddling a cure, disappearing vampires and the revaluation that supernaturals do exist in the world. The beginning of the book I was a little disgusted with the characters. The end though totally suppressed and annoyed me.

I liked the radio talk show aspect and Kitty's personality on the air, but off the air she has/had issues. Though Kitty does grow up some and realizes some key things about herself and the pack.

I did not like the third person talk when in wolf form. It was interesting, but did not work so much for me. I also did not like the pack and it's mentality. I hope all pack's in this series are not like that. I'm a little spooled with Patricia Briggs & Terry Spears werewolf's.

All and all this was an ok read! I hope the next book in the series is an improvement. I will give it a try!

Review: Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling, #7) by Nalini Singh

Blaze of Memory
Parnormal Romance - Urban Fantasy - Shapeshifters

Charged with protecting his people's most vulnerable secrets, Dev is duty-bound to eliminate all threats. It's a task he's never hesitated to complete...until he finds himself drawn to a woman who might prove to be the enemy's most insidious weapon yet.

Stripped of her memories by a shadowy oppressor and programmed to carry out cold-blooded murder, Katya Haas is fighting desperately for her sanity. Her only hope is Dev. But how can she expect to gain the trust of a man who could very well be her next target? For in this game, one must die...

~3.5 Blaze Stars ~

Blaze of Memory is book seven in Nalini Singh Psy-Changeling series. I have to say this is my least favorite book so far in this series. I had so much trouble getting into this one and was confused at the begging on who Dev was. I finally figured it out! We get a little action really not a lot, some bedroom scenes and a plot to take out the head of Shine.

This book could have been more. Dev has some cool abilities, but he only uses them once. It made no sense to give him abilities if he never uses them. In all the previous books the Psy powers are on full display. Katya is strong, determined, but she struggles with her own brain, which what was done to her is understandable. I also did not get why they had to go north? Nothing came from it unless you count the time as a why to grow the characters more into a relationship.

There where a few things I did like about this book that kept me going. One was the letters to Matthew from the Petrokov Family Archives. It was nice to read the past and see how it affected those in the Psy net before Silence came to be. I also enjoyed learning more about the Forgotten. Last I liked the cameo appearance from Judd and Lucas/Sascha. The ending was wonderful and a tear came to my eye.

For the most part I was reading just to get to the end and move onto the next book in the series. It does have some good points to it and helps use see more into the Forgotten, but Blaze of Memory was just ok for me. As for the series I enjoy Nalini Singh's writing and the interracial realtionships she creates!

Angel's Guilty Pleasures

Review: Taken by a Vampire (Vampire Queen, #9) by Joey W. Hill

Taken by a Vampire
Erotica - Menage - Parnormal Romance - Adult Fiction

Note: This needs a warning label. 18+

Joey W. Hill’s Vampire Queen novels keep the pages turning, your imagination running, [and] your dreams carnally vivid” (Bitten by Books). In her newest installment, a servant sentenced to death is sent into hiding and finds a passion she never expected in her new protector…

Groomed from birth to be an Inherited Servant and serve only the most powerful vampire Masters, Alanna never resented her destiny. Then she did the unthinkable: she betrayed her Master to the Vampire Council. Now death is her future, but until her Master is captured, she must be protected. The Vampire Council assigns her to Evan, a vampire whose wandering lifestyle makes him the perfect guardian…

Alanna’s training was for a vampire of power and ambition, not for someone like Evan who lives in mountainside shacks and caves. Even his servant, Niall, is rough mannered. But these two men are about to teach Alanna something her rigorous training never did: how to feel, how to desire …perhaps even how to love.

Then the Council captures her Master, and Alanna has no choice but to accept her destiny. But Evan and Niall are no strangers to defying fate—and they will stop at nothing to make Alanna theirs forever.

~ 5 Taken Stars ~

Well I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked up Taken by a Vampire. This is my first experience with this author and Joey Hill can create a world of passion, protection and Vampire taboo’s. I was pulled into the world she creates with ease, able to follow the story, even with this being book nine in her Vampire Queen series.

I had seen a few reviews around the blog-a-spheare and the cover said Oh Ya! Take Me I’m Yours! This book surprised me and I truly enjoyed reading this one. I had know idea that I was going to be delving into a BDSM story. I’m not one who likes to read BDSM stories; for some get a little out of hand or are hard fetched to believe, but the author wrote about the Vampire life of Master and servant with great care to make it believable and sensual. I enjoyed the sexual play, with its non-shock value and relatively tame aspect.

I loved the amazing dynamic between Evan, Niall and Alanna. The author put us inside each characters head and made us feel what they felt, the struggles they did, and their desires. The struggle that Alanna an overly-disciplined InhServ goes through to love and be loved, was so well written, I felt her struggles to stay true to her teachings as well as let go and find herself. The dynamic’s between the three will pull on your heart, tangle you so thoroughly, you’ll feel you might just die with them. The end I did not see coming and all I can say is it was well worth it. A surprise for the readers who pick this one up.

Taken by a Vampire showcases love and compassion overcoming evil. As well as witty banter, sadness and unconditional soul deep love. That tamer side of the BDSM as well as the amazing character development helped me enjoy this story. The sexual play had me fanning myself and getting all hot and bothered. After reading this you will need a fresh pair of panties!

WARNING! This book is MM/MFM/MMF/MF plus BDSM.

Mini Reviews: The Weird Girls (Novella) by Cecy Robson / Ravenous by Eden Summers

Mini Review's: The Weird Girls/Ravenous

Celia Wird and her three sisters are just like other 20-something girls—with one tiny exception: they're products of a backfired curse that has given each of them unique powers that make them, well, a little weird…

The Wird sisters are different from every race on earth—human and supernatural. When human society is no longer an option for them, they move in among the resident vampires, werebeasts, and witches of the Lake Tahoe region. Could this be the true home they’ve longed for? Um, not quite. After the sisters accidentally strip a witch of her powers in a bar brawl, they soon realize the mistake will cost them. Because to take on a witch means to take on her coven. And losing the battle isn’t an option.

Includes a preview of the first full-length novel in the Weird Girls series,Sealed with a Curse—as well as introductions to the Weird World, and a letter from the author.

My Review:
5 Stars
Loved it! The women are entertaining & strong. You feel that connection between the sisters. This author shows me her series will be fun & eventful. Well worth reading before you pick up book 1 Sealed with a Curse.

She’s a small town caterer, he’s a big city chef, but they don’t need a kitchen to make things sizzle...

Erin McDonald likes her simple life in her small town: no drama, no fuss, no uncertainty...until Jesse Hackett breezes back into town. Erin never quite got over how he left for the bright lights of the big city, and took her heart with him.

Jesse never regretted his decision to leave small town life behind and chase his big city dreams, but he’s always regretted leaving Erin behind. No woman has ever compared, and once he convinces Erin to let him touch her again, he’s never going to let her go.

Sparks fly and fires are rekindled, but the basic divide still remains: what really matters in life — location or love?

My Review:
5 Stars
Ravenous pull's you in from the first paragraph. You feel the characters emotions, their history and sexual frustrations. The medeling mother and sister where fun as was the back and forth between Erin and Jesse. It's a sizzling hot read!!

Review: Wulfe Untamed (Feral Warriors, #8) by Pamela Palmer

Wulfe Untamed
Parnormal Romance - Shapeshifters - Demons

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release...

The most enigmatic and tortured of the Feral Warriors, Wulfe is haunted by the quiet beauty of a human woman who no longer remembers him. Once a captive of both the Mage and the Ferals, Natalie stole a piece of his heart before he took her memories and sent her safely back to her fiancé. But now the Mage are threatening her again, and Wulfe will risk anything to protect her.

Natalie Cash is stunned when she's saved by a wolf who shifts suddenly into a splendidly built, if badly scarred, man, a man with the kindest eyes. Swept into a world of intrigue and danger beyond her comprehension, she turns to the powerful Wulfe, finding a passion she'd only dreamed of. But when time runs out, they must trust one another and surrender to a wild, untamed love.

~ 5 Wulfe Untamed ~

It’s always bitter sweet to see a series end, but Pamela Palmer did a wonderful amazing job in sending us off. She did leave possibilities open for a return to her Feral Warriors, but if she never comes back and this truly is the end, it was a moving and astonishing end.

I’m a huge fan of Pamela Palmer. I got my first taste of the Feral Warriors series in Bitten by Cupid which features the short story “Hearts Untamed #3.5” now published on it’s own. That sweet love story got me interested in the world of the Feral's, the Therian's, the Mage and the evil trying to distroy all. I wanted more!

So now here we are. I’ve read the entire series and enjoyed the adventure that is the world of the Feral’s and finally after the first book Desire Untamed I get to read about Wulfe a man scared inside and out that he does’t see how beautiful he is until this spectacular human women see’s deep into his soul and heals him what he thought never could be healed.

Lots of things happen and I don’t want to spoil it for those die hard fans. What I will say is I LOVED IT and did not want to put the book down until the very end. We get adventure, despair, healing, friendships and a soul deep bound.

I liked learning about the true Daemon race before Satanan took over. The sexual tension was, so well built that when they hit the sac it was hot and steamy. I will say it was rather tame compared to other sexual encounters in previous books, but no less moving. Lastly the Epilogue was sweet and wonderful to read. It was an amazing and loving ending to a wonderful series!

For fans this is a must read! For those who have not read this series I recommend you do. Pamela Palmer does not disappoint. Lastly after reading Wulfe Untamed, I feel like going back and experiencing the books all over again. Fantastic read!

I recently read Dark Wolf (Dark #25) by Christine Feehan. I really enjoy this series and am thrilled with the new direction she has taken in her Dark series. Dark Wolf is about Skyler and Dimitri. Skyler was barely a teen when she meet Dimitri, so this story has been a long time coming.

"The official looked at her again and studied her papers closely. "He died of a broken heart?"
There was skepticism in his voice.
Skyler nearly choked. "When I get my hands on you, Josef, you're going to die of more than a broken heart.” - Dark Wolf by Christine Feehan

"There is uncertainty of the future.
Skyler laughed softly, sharing her amusement with him. The leaf still continued on its journey, its brief dance only delaying the inevitable—as Dimitri was simply delaying the inevitable.
The future is always uncertain, my love. Especially now. I want this, Dimitri, now before whatever happens tonight, whether we succeed or not. I will follow you wherever you go. We cannot be undone. Please make me yours. She meant every single word. She was certain. Absolutely certain that this was the right thing for her—for him. And if they were killed in this rescue attempt, their souls would be bound." - Dark Wolf by Christine Feehan

“He took possession of that perfect mouth, so warm and soft and inviting. His fist bunched in the thick silky strands of her hair, anchoring her to him, his first aggressive, controlling move, his first demand. He waited a heartbeat, giving her the chance to pull away, but she remained motionless, a small bird with fluttering heart, holding still, waiting.
His mouth coaxed hers to open for him, more of a claim then he’d ever made on her before, more insistent. He counted his heartbeats this time, afraid she’d panic and pull away, but her trust in him overcame any fears she had and she opened her mouth to him. He took control, sweeping inside to claim her as a woman, a lover." - Dark Wolf by Christine Feehan

The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.

Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.

As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?

Review: Dark Wolf (Dark, #25) by Christine Feehan

Dark Wolf

Parnormal Romance - Vampires - Shapeshifters

In Dark Lycan, Christine Feehan journeyed into the heart of the Carpathians, and into the souls of two lifemates stirred by the flush of passion and the threat of annihilation. In Dark Wolf, the breathtaking story continues as the bonds of family are imperiled, and the fate of two lovers lies hidden in the seductive shadows between life and death.

Skyler Daratrazanoff always recognized the miracle that was Dimitri Tirunul, a man beyond any dream that had ever engaged her nights. But she was human. Vulnerable. He was Carpathian. Nearly immortal. She was nineteen. He was an ancient. Yet she held half his soul, the light to his darkness. Without her, he would not survive. Caught between the two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free, and humans safe. He had survived honorably when others had chosen to give up their souls. But now, marked for extermination by the Lycans, Dimitri found himself alone, and fearing for his life. But salvation was coming…

No Lycan would ever suspect someone like Skyler to dare mount a secret rescue operation. A teenage girl. A human of untested abilities. But she had something no one else had. She was predestined for Dimitri—as he was for her. And there was nothing stronger for Skyler than her desire to see her life-dream come true. Whatever the risk.

~ 5 Dark Wolf Stars ~

There is not much I can say about and her Carpathians. Fans will not want to miss reading Skyler and Dimitri's story, my god, it's been a long time coming. Those who have not picked up this series yet need too it's amazing and worth the read. Feeham has a way with words, world building, and character integration. We get hot alpha Carpathians,  humans with psychic gifts, lots of action and well written sex scenes.

I have been so excited for Dimitri and Skyler’s story every since they meet in Dark Celebration. Feehan did not disappoint! Skyler has grown into a women who accepts her Mage side as well as her Dragonseeker heritage. Everything about this book was outstanding! The relationship that Skyler and Dimitri have is so different from the other books. It’s special and magnificent.  We know how very Alpha all the Carpathian males can be, but Dimitri does not let it take control. Dimitiri is caring, sweet, and patient with Skyler. He understands her and her fears. Their first real kiss was sweet and their love making was just that love making.

The action in this book was fantastic! I like the development in the plot and I really like the direction this series is going. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Book 25: Dark Blood
Due Out Sept. 2014
At long last you are truly back with us…

Zev Hunter was an elite warrior, a dark-blood dealer of death to rogue Lycans who preyed on mankind. He was a loner, never given to personal attachments, and damned fierce at his job. But Zev begins to question his past and his purpose when he awakens in the darkness of the sacred cave of warriors—and is soothed back to consciousness by the sensuously familiar voice of one woman, the woman who has haunted his fantasies for centuries. She was Branislava, member of the Dragonseeker clan…

Mother Earth called the ancients to witness your rebirth…

For this half-mage, half-Carpathian temptress, the ritual of awakening Zev to the council of warriors was the only way to save him. Locked away for his own protection, the time has now come for his rebirth, for his blood to stir with that of the ancient warriors before him. He has been assured by Branislava that their fates are entwined, that their spirits are woven together for eternity and that his new purpose in life is beyond imagining.

Now, with a blood-sworn vow of honor, mercy and endurance, and under the influence of a siren as bewitching as Branislava, Zev begins to wonder what his purpose is, what it means for the future of the Carpathians and what it is about his rebirth that he has to fear.

Review: Wolf with Benefits (Pride, #8) by Shelly Laurenston

Wolf With Benefits
Parnormal Romance - Shapeshifters - Urban Fantasy
Ricky Lee has no plans of getting serious about anyone, but he will protect Toni Jean-Louis Parker. Not just because he’s been hired to do so, but because it’s the right thing to do. And if that means traveling around the country with one complicated She-jackal, dealing with chocolate-eating wild dogs, instigating trouble between his brothers, and having the most amazing sex he’s ever had…well, who said his job didn’t have perks?

Toni doesn’t know how she keeps getting herself into these situations. But even she has to admit there’s something about Ricky Lee Reed that she finds kind of interesting…and downright sexy. Now they just have to survive long enough to figure out if what they have is worth fighting for.

* 5 Wolf Stars *

"Wolf With Benefits" pulls you in. I could not put this book down. I love the Pride series by Shelly Laurenston. This book is non stop hilarious. I just loved the first line "Are you my daddy?" It's also a fun light hearted romance. The story, while giving us new characters, still manages to work in past characters so well and with purpose.

I had so much fun reading this book. I loved Toni and her crazy family. Shelly keeps giving us more and more fun characters to learn about and love. I liked that a Reed boy "Ricky Lee" finally got a book.

Great plot, hilarious, and a fun romance. If you have not started the Pride series I highly recommend it. Fun, Hilarious, and Loving Romance.
