Review: After Dark by Gena Showalter and Kait Ballenger

After Dark
Parnormal Romance - Vampires - Demons - Angels

The Darkest Angel

Winged warrior Lysander has been alive for centuries, and yet he's never known desire-until he meets Bianka. Spawned from the bloodline of his enemy, the beautiful but deadly Harpy is determined to lead the untouched Lysander into temptation. He may try to evade her attempts, but even the most iron-willed demon assassin can resist for only so long....

And from debut author Kait Ballenger

Shadow Hunter

Vampire hunter Damon Brock's first assignment with the Execution Underground is Rochester, New York, a city crawling with the undead. But he isn't the only hunter in town gunning for vamp blood. Tiffany Solow is fierce and ruthless when it comes to slaying the monsters that destroyed her family-and she works solo. But being alone is no longer so desirable when she meets the mysterious hunter who wants more than just her turf. As they work to massacre the local covens, the line between good and evil blurs when they are forced to decide between their lifelong beliefs... and their newfound hearts.

~ 5 Stars ~

After Dark by Gena Showalter & Kait Ballenger

Shadow Hunter by Kait Ballenger #0.5 (Execution Underground)

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. WOW what an ending to Shadow Hunter. I can't wait to read more and find out what happens. Kait Ballenger got me hooked. I enjoyed her writing style and I look forward to check out the rest of her Execution Underground series.

We get action, sex, and a cliff hanger ending that leaves you wanting. Damon and Tiffany's sexual tension is great, well portrayed. I liked learning about the Execution Undergroundand the world these characters live in. We get a peak (file only)of a new team that Damon has picked out for the new EU deviation of Rochester, NY. And the ending was spectacular.

The Darkest Angel by Gena Showalter #4.5 (Lords of the Underworld)

What can I say. I'm a hug fan of Gena's work. I enjoy the world & characters that she creates.
The Darkest Angel is a fantastic read. We learn more about the Lords and a peak at the women in their lives or soon to be. I like when a novella follows closely to the main books in a series and how they give us more information on characters and overall story.

We get humor, sex, and a great balance between the main characters. Lysander sets out to take Bianka as a "project" to help show her light and changer her evil ways, but he doesn't plan on the sparks and attraction that ignite between them.

I love all things Shifter! It's always so hard to choose a favorite, but Jaguars are amazing! Jaguars are the largest of South America's big cats. These beautiful and powerful beasts were prominent in ancient Native American cultures. In some traditions the Jaguar God of the Night was the formidable lord of the underworld.

Terry Spearis one of many authors that writes about shifters. She is also one of my favorites! This month she released Silence of the Wolf "Heart of the Wolf" #13 another great shifter series. Check out my review HERE!

Critical Intelligence had some funny moments to I really enjoyed.  My favorite is the first quote the moment someone learns they are going to be a daddy I had to smile it reminded me of the day our son was born and how my hubby cried and passed out after he was born. ^_^  Check out my review here!

" Nothing is wrong." Green smiled. "Well, not unless you consider being a father a bad thing."      "Being a father?"       "I'm going to be a ..." Darkness swallowed him whole as he passed out cold. ~ Critical Intelligence by Mandy M…
